Skye's POV

I will tell you what it is like to wish for death.
You sit there, day after day, forgetting the meaning of time, but still counting the minutes, the seconds, until your rescue.
You feel, day after day, the pain as you are tortued again by the evil King's minions.
You lose hope, as after ten years, no one has come to rescue you.
You wonder if they have forgotten.
You begin to wonder if you can prise a brick out of your cell wall, to bash yourself over the head with.
You sigh in frustration as the magic that once came to you so easily is a struggle to even consider.
You watch as your body changes to beyond recognition, a broken, battered thing.
You feel the bitter sting of rejection, as, after fifty years and the King is dead, your loved ones scream at you 'betrayer!' and cut you off from your dragon, banishing you from the Elvern cities.
You feel emptiness.
You wish for nothing more than death to free you from the invisible wounds that are far worse than a cut from a knife.
That is the wish for death.

I contemplate this as I walk through the forests of Du Weldenvarden, what was once my home. I have come to beg for forgiveness, to beg that the king and queen, Arya and Eragon, my adoptive parents, will let me return.
To be reunited with Caelum, Murtagh, Thorn, Irides and Willow.
I can feel him now, Caelum, feel his consciousness. He has sheilded himself from me; I do not blame him. To him I am betrayer, oath-breaker, egg-smasher.
He was not close enough to my prison to experience my pain. To understand what happened.
As I creep into Ellesmera, passing the Elf Guard, I feel the magical wards around the city go off. My face twists into a scowl. Wonderful.
No doubt, by now, Caelum has warned Eragon and Arya of my arrival. I move forward nontheless, until I reach Tildari Hall, and hear a voice snarl, "What do you think you're doing here, Betrayer?"
His voice washes over me. I have waited fifty years to hear this voice.
My own voice, rusty and hoarse from disuse, murmurs his name.
"Murtagh."
:D
Welcome, friends, to Blue Skies and Green Willows.
This is an Eragon-based fantastical story, edited severely from the original.
Yes, the Willow and Skye in here are very similar to the Willow and Skye in Irides's Dragons of the Crystal Caves. You know why? BECAUSE SHE AND I CREATED THEM TOGETHER.
These, in this story, are the original Willow and Skye, not the ones in DCC. They're older, more powerful, etc.

I dedicate this entire series to Irides/Ari, because even she does not know what will happen next :)
